Brazil Dreamin’ is a community event. We want everyone — attendees, speakers, partners, volunteers and organizers — to have a safe, welcoming and harassment-free experience, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion, nationality, level of experience or technology choices.

Expected behavior

• Be respectful and considerate in everything you say and do.
• Make room for others: in conversations, in questions, in the hallway.
• Respect people’s boundaries, including when they say no to photos, conversations or connections.
• Look out for each other. If someone seems uncomfortable, check in or tell an organizer.

Unacceptable behavior

• Harassment, intimidation or discrimination in any form.
• Offensive comments or imagery related to any of the characteristics listed above.
• Unwelcome physical contact, sexual attention or stalking.
• Recording or photographing people who asked not to be recorded.
• Sustained disruption of talks or other activities.
• Sales pitches in sessions that are not labeled as sponsored.

This applies at the venue, at social activities connected to the event and in online spaces related to Brazil Dreamin’.

Reporting

If you experience or witness unacceptable behavior, talk to any organizer or volunteer at the event, or reach us through the contact page. Reports are handled confidentially and with care.

Consequences

Organizers may take any action they consider appropriate, including a warning or removal from the event. Partners, speakers and volunteers are held to the same standard.
